  Bayard Cutting Arboretum charges an admission fee of $8 per vehicle. Once inside, you can spend hours strolling along the arboretum's paths. Make sure you spend some time in Oak Park, a section of the property with a collection of Black Oak trees. Another beautiful area is the Great Lawn, home to a 125-year-old beech tree.

  Heckscher State Park is a state park on the south shore of Long Island. The park has miles of paved trails, so you can take a walk or a bike ride to admire the trees. You may also want to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy under a picnic pavilion. Several are surrounded by beautiful trees, and you'll see birds and deer in the distance.

  Clark Botanic Garden is a 12-ace property dedicated to celebrating plants and horticulture. On a walk through the gardens, you can see countless species of flowers but also many ornamental trees that are changing color for fall. Many birds call the gardens home, and you're sure to see some of them flitting about, too.
  
  Clark Botanic Garden is free to enter, but voluntary donations are encouraged. There's also an on-site gift shop where you can purchase various trinkets and gifts.
