Heckscher State Park- Heckscher Parkway Field 1, East Islip, NY 11730
Cycle the 4.5-mile flat trail for a panoramic view of Great South Bay. Watch for the nests of ospreys, a sea hawk, that tower over the park campground, and over the trail near Field 7. This 1600-acre former 19th-century estate also shelters white-tail deer and a variety of other birds. The park, originally opposed by local residents, represented public official Robert Moses's toughest fight to ensure the availability of public lands on Long Island. East Islip homes for sale are conveniently located near the trail and other amenities of Heckscher.
Eisenhower Park - Merrick and Stewart Avenues, East Meadow, NY 11554
This 930-acre oasis in Nassau County is one of the largest public spaces in the New York metro area. Larger than Central Park, it comprises property owned by Salisbury Country Club plus adjoining properties the county acquired. There's an easy, 5-mile loop trail, accessible all year round, near Meadowbrook Parkway. Check out Garden City homes for sale, just a few minutes away from the biking trails and everything else Eisenhower Park has to offer.
Belmont Lake State Park - Southern State Parkway Exit 38, North Babylon, NY 11703
Located in Suffolk County, Belmont Lake State Park offers lots of activities, including picnicking, pedal boat and kayak rental, fishing, game courts, and also trails for walking and biking. Cyclists can enjoy a flat, easy 2.5-mile trail that runs through pretty woods, by a small waterfall, and over a stone bridge. Interested in Commack homes for sale? Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve - 25 Lloyd Harbor Road, Huntington, NY 11743
