As their name implies, they also function as a horse rescue, helping rehabilitate racehorses and other types of horses from injuries. Any horse you ride at Big River Barn will be a rescue.   While Big River Barn rehabilitates horses, Bethpage Equestrian Center uses horses as therapy for people. Their therapeutic riding program teaches both children and adults how to ride, to provide physical exercise, as well as social and emotional well-being. The beautiful park also offers regular lessons in English and Western styles, as well as camps, birthday parties, and more.   Available by appointment only, Babylon Riding Center is a great spot for beginners, providing lessons in either 30- or 60-minute blocks. They also have beautiful trail rides – either guided tours or on your own. The guided tours also include riding instruction, plus a photo of you in front of the lake.

  Suffolk Equestrian Academy is a gorgeous, 10-acre facility, perfect for both experienced and beginning riders alike. They provide lessons for children as well as adults and have horse leasing programs for students to get more riding time on their own.   In addition to great trails, Knoll Farm has top-notch boarding services for people looking for a place for their own horse. Horses are turned out every day and can be given grooming, bathing, tacking, and whatever else they may need. Or, if you don't have your own horse, Knoll Farm has them available for lease. They have both indoor and outdoor facilities and offer lessons for all skill levels. You can learn basic riding, or competition riding, jumping, and more.
