If you enjoy fajitas, August 18th is bound to be an exciting day. It's National Fajita Day! Fajitas are thought to have been created by Mexican workers on ranches in the 1930s. They made their way into restaurants in the 1960s, and today, many restaurants serve incredible fajitas on Long Island. Here are a few top spots our REALTORS® recommend visiting for National Fajita Day.

1. La Panchita Restaurant: 67 W. Main St., Smithtown, NY 11787
   If you happen to be looking at Smithtown homes for sale, stop by La Panchita Restaurant for some of the best fajitas around. This bright and lively restaurant was founded in 1994 and serves a variety of Mexican, Spanish, and Colombian dishes. Their typical fajitas come with chicken, sauteed onions, and peppers. You can also order Fajitas Panchita with skirt steak, chicken, and shrimp.
   
   In addition to fajitas, La Panchita has delicious camarones al chipotle, which is shrimp served in a spicy chipotle sauce. Don't leave without trying the fried ice cream, which is $1 off on Fridays.
   
   
2. Faz's Tex Mex Grill: 28 Wall St., Huntington Village, NY 11743
   Faz's Tex Mex Grill is a casual restaurant near many great Huntington homes for sale. They make everything in-house using natural ingredients and no artificial colors or flavorings. 
   
   At Faz's, you can order your fajitas in one of two ways. Order from the a la carte menu, which includes chicken and steak fajitas. Or, feed a large group by ordering Fajitas by the Pound.    Mesita is an authentic Mexican restaurant that serves traditional Mexican fare, including tacos, street corn, and guacamole. Their fajitas are one of their most popular items. Choose a protein from among options that include steak, chicken, or shrimp. All fajitas are served with pico de gallo, Mexican rice, and black beans.
   
   Mesita also has great margaritas. The Passionada, made with jalapeno-infused tequila, is perfect after a long day of looking at Garden City homes for sale.
   
   
4. Pico Tequila Grill: 1920 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, NY 11731
   If you're in the mood to sip some tequila with your fajitas, Pico Tequila Grill is the place to go. This restaurant has a comfortable outdoor patio and an extensive tequila menu.
   
   The chicken fajitas are a favorite at Pico Tequila Grill. They come with a side of Mexican street corn. 5. Besito Mexican: 204 New York Ave., Huntington, NY 11743
   For a more upscale dining experience, head to Besito Mexican in Huntington. With candle-lit tables and elegant decor, this would be a great place for date night. Every meal starts with complimentary chips and salsa.
   
   While the fajitas at Besito Mexican are delicious, they also offer Iron Skillet Tacos. They melt Chihuahua cheese tableside in an iron skillet and pour it over your tacos. Choose between grilled chicken, carne asada, and vegetable fillings.
