However, they also have a diverse collection of trees, which are currently a vibrant display of red, yellow, and gold autumn leaves. It's a great spot for a picnic, as well as for photography, whether amateur or professional. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October and until 4 p.m. in November. Entry is free, but a parking fee of $8 per vehicle applies.

Valley Stream State Park - Valley Stream, NY

For a family picnic and some fall sports, check out Valley Stream State Park. It's got picnic areas with fire pits and barbecue grills, facilities for sports such as:
